Welcome to Replenish and Thrive, after a long sabbatical for those who knew me in my Essential Awareness days… or perhaps you met me through the Humble Bumblebee Blog, or my Dr. Joe Dispenza testimonial from the Brington weekend long retreat?
Be you an old friend or someone I’ve yet to have the delight to meet, I am overjoyed to be back in practice. My practice and I have been through a Quantum Leap of personal and professional growth… and I am coming back with a Big Bang!!!
Each and every one of us has a nervous system. Hold on for a short bit of science… the autonomic nervous system is a component of the peripheral nervous system and It regulates involuntary physiologic processes which include heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, digestion, and sexual arousal. This then breaks down into the sympathetic nervous system which is in charge of preparing the body for stressful or emergency situations (fight or flight) and the parasympathetic nervous system which controls body processes during ordinary situations. It’s in charge of conserving, restoring, healing and creating.
Why would my Nervous System need healing? I hear you call…
If you say yes to two or more of the following, your nervous system would like you to keep on reading please… Anxious. depressed, irritable, moody and stressed.
Headaches, chronic pain, muscle tension, insomnia, digestive issues and a weakened immune system. Memory problems, difficulty concentrating, being easily overwhelmed or becoming overly emotional and you don’t know why.
Healing and then maintaining a regulated nervous system can improve both your mental and physical health and improve your overall feeling of daily well-being. Helping you better manage your stress, giving you the ability to calm yourself down faster when triggered and you’ll experience better handling of unexpected stressful situations too. This in turn improves and increases your stress resilience capacity.
Over time, because nervous system regulation has a compound effect, it can also improve the quality and length of your sleeping patterns. Giving you the ability to wake up feeling refreshed and energised ready for your new day. Which leads you to feeling more and more positive, with better emotional regulation. Greatly Improving cognitive function, allowing you to feel more focused and improving your concentration. All of this fabulousness improves immune function, strengthening your immune system and reducing the risk of chronic conditions.
All in all it’s a WIN WIN WIN!
There are loads of ways to help your beautiful nervous system find regulation throughout your day. And for some through the night can really help too…after all, all it ever wants is to feel safe. There is no Sargent majoring yourself back into nervous system regulation people. It has to be done with Love.
